SCOPE’s 15th New York edition opened to record-breaking crowds in its new location across from the Armory Piers at Metropolitan West. Platinum members were the first to preview SCOPE’s new open-plan exhibition format, featuring 55 international galleries, alongside 10
Juxtapoz Presents and 4
Breeder Program galleries.
Sales were brisk throughout the afternoon, with robust attendance that extended well into the evening hours. Within hours
George Lucas and
Mellody Hobson had acquired works from multiple exhibitors, including 6 pieces from
Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series Winner
Kristine Mays and 3 works from
Jesus Curia at
Galerie Mark Hachem, who sold over 300k in SCOPE’s three-day run.
Other celebrities in attendance including
Jon Bon Jovi,
Johnny Depp,
Adam Levine, and
Swizz Beatz, who acquired several works for
The Dean Collection, including a
Lyle Owerko photograph from
Galerie LeRoyer and a work from
Ernest Zacharevic at
Thinkspace.
Additionally,
Thinkspace placed 26 works and began a waiting list for artists
Erik Jones and
Kevin Peterson, exclaiming, “Despite the cold, the sales were hot for us!” Similarly, longtime SCOPE alum
AUREUS Contemporary placed multiple works from
Claire Shegog,
Karim Hamid,
William P. Immer and
Viktor Freso for over 100k in sales. Touting SCOPE’s “quality collectors,
AUREUS “felt the show captured the essence of NYC - short, sharp, intense, crowded, and FULL of energy!”
New York’s
Joseph Gross Gallery sold out works from artists
Alex Yanes and
Chad Wys, describing SCOPE’s location as “amazing” and the fair as “beautifully curated’. Sharing this sentiment is SCOPE newcomer
Station16 Gallery, a
Juxtapoz Presents gallery: “One of our favorite things at SCOPE- we didn’t know it was so curated- and that is what has made the biggest difference.”
Station16 sold over a dozen works from all 5 of their artists, including
Stikki Peaches,

WIA.

Krause Gallery sold nearly all of their artists, crediting SCOPE’s progressive floorplan with encouraging visitors to “engage and really walk through”.
According to SCOPE’s sponsors and partners, visitors were indeed engaging, with
AVIV Vodka offering over 3700 complimentary cocktails,
LavAzza serving 1700 espressos and
Bombay Sapphire offering hundreds of gin cocktails from their elegant bar.
